Conservancy Trail System

Whiterock Conservancy Trail System

Whiterock Conservancy developed an ambitious goal to create state-park-like services on 5,000 acres of a 15,000 acre working farm in Coon Rapids, IA. The plan was to manage both agricultural and outdoor recreation activities on the same parcels of land while attracting tourism to the region.

During the wettest spring/summer in Iowa history, Singletrack Trails completed the project in an aggressive 4-month timeline. Our team built through unfavorable conditions in an unfamiliar location and had minor setbacks with equipment getting stuck, but in the end the results were fantastic.

Singletrack Trails was proud to be part of a project the incorporated trails, outdoor recreation, and land management to become a new economic driver for a community that had previously relied solely on the agricultural industry.

The Whiterock Trail System now draws local and regional riders and hikers from as far away as Omaha, so all the rain, sweat, and mud was worth it.
