CURT GOWDY & GLENDO STATE PARK

LARAMIE & GLENDO, WY

2006 - 2015

Building upon an established, successful relationship with Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites, and Trails, Singletrack Trails won the competitive bid to begin construction on 6 miles of new trail spanning Curt Gowdy and Glendo State Parks. This project was expanded to field flag 20 miles of proposed trail to be constructed during Phase 2 of Glendo State Park’s trail build plan.

In 2010, we completed the build using a combination of machine and hand construction techniques. In addition to the trail work, our crew supervised and worked alongside two Wyoming Conservation Crews for a total of four weeks.

Singletrack Trails worked in tandem with Wyoming Conservation Corps crews and local volunteers to help implement the design. From 3ft wide mechanized construction to 18in wide hand-built trail, this trail network provides experiential diversity for a wide variety of trail users

The quality of the construction and innovative use of the park’s natural features has resulted in it being a highlighted trail destination in Outside, Men’s Journal, Mountain Bike and Bike magazines. The trail system at Curt Gowdy State Park was designated an IMBA Epic ride in 2009.
